Cone Health has met The Joint Commission‘s national standards for healthcare quality and safety and has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™.

Joint Commission surveyors provide a comprehensive review of many areas from steps being taken to reduce the spread of hospital-based infections to making sure back-up power generators are routinely tested and in working order.

Cone Health was the first five-hospital system in the Southeast to be awarded Magnet Recognition for Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The honor was given in February 2005 and renewed in 2009. A Magnet designation is the highest honor a hospital can receive for its nursing services. The designation is based on meeting standards set by the American Nurses Association.
