This Joint Replacement Class is designed for anyone having joint replacement surgery at any of the Cone Health Hospitals. The same information is taught at each hospital, so you may attend class on either campus (Wesley Long or Annie Penn) - regardless of where your surgery will be performed.
We strongly encourage you attend a class before you have surgery and bring a guest or caregiver with you.
The goals of this class are to:
- Increase awareness of what to expect during your hospital stay
- Describe how the patient and caregiver can be involved in your care
- Explain how to best meet your discharge needs
- Prepare for the best and safest recovery from your surgery
At Wesley Long Hospital, these classes are held in Classrooms 1,2 or 3 in the Education Center on the east side. You may enter through the Education Center that faces N. Elam Avenue or the main hospital entrance facing Friendly Avenue (right beside the Regional Cancer Center entrance). Classroom information will be posted the day of class at both of these entrances. It may be helpful to have your guest drop you off at the Education Center entrance before parking.
