"Weigh to Wellness" is now offering two six-week weight management programs, led by Jeannie Sykes, PhD, a registered dietitian with the Cone Health Family Medicine Center.
- “Weigh to Wellness I: The Fundamentals” begins on Jan. 7, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Wesley Long Education Center in Classroom 3. This series will focus on evidence-based weight management principles with an emphasis on behavior change. Topics to be addressed include goal setting, appetite management, diet composition, restaurant foods, label reading, physical activity and weight loss aids, such as artificial sweeteners and supplements.
- “Weigh to Wellness II: Beyond Diets” begins on Feb. 25, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Wesley Long Education Center in Classroom 3. This series will focus on understanding what drives individual food decisions, emphasizing strategies for behavioral change. Participants will also explore some of the less tangible aspects of weight management, including new research findings about the influence of sleep, environment, emotions, self-compassion and habits on eating behaviors.
The fee is $150 for each six-week class.
Participants may register for either or both classes.
