This community group is designed to empower people with a recently diagnosed stroke and their caregivers to live better through awareness, education and community support. Stroke survivors and families will:
- Increase awareness of how a stroke affects the physical, cognitive, and emotional aspects of life.
- Increase knowledge of how to reduce the risk of another stroke and learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Identify community resources available to stroke survivors and their caregivers.
- Identify adaptive equipment needs and compensatory strategies to increase safety and independence with daily activities.
This group meets on the second Thursday of every month, except December, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Cone Health Neurorehabilitation Center located at 912 Third Street, Suite 102.
