Cone Health was the first five-hospital system in the Southeast to be awarded Magnet Recognition for Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The Health System received redesignation in August 2009.
A Magnet designation is the highest honor a hospital can receive for its nursing services. The designation is based on meeting standards set by the American Nurses Association.

A record 26 Cone Health nurses have been selected for inclusion in this year’s Great 100. It is the largest number of nurses from a single health system in the history of the Great 100 program.
