Health System earns Magnet status
Cone Health was the first five-hospital system in the Southeast to be awarded Magnet Recognition for Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The honor was given in February 2005 and renewed in 2009.
This means all five Cone Health Hospitals – The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Wesley Long Community Hospital, The Women’s Hospital of Greensboro, Annie Penn Hospital and Moses Cone Behavioral Health Center – achieved this designation at the same time.
A Magnet designation is the highest honor a hospital can receive for its nursing services. The designation is based on meeting standards set by the American Nurses Association.
“The entire organization has rallied around this,” Health System President and CEO Tim Rice says. “It proves what we have known: Cone Health is a great place for nurses and a great place to work.”
