Moses Cone Heart and Vascular Center honored for heart attack care

Moses Cone Heart and Vascular Center has received the Gold Performance Achievement Award for the treatment of heart attacks from the American College of Cardiology Foundation – one of only 135 hospitals nationwide to receive the recognition.

The ACTION Registry – Get with the Guidelines Gold Performance Achievement Award recognizes hospitals that provide a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and that meet the group’s treatment guidelines for 24 consecutive months. Those guidelines include aggressively using medications such as beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, aspirin and anticoagulants.

“We are so honored to be recognized nationally for the world-class cardiovascular care provided at the Moses Cone Heart and Vascular Center,” says Vicki Block, Vice President, Moses Cone Heart and Vascular Center. “Our ongoing commitment to being among the very best in cardiovascular care not only provides the best patient experience and most successful outcomes, but it also saves lives. It's wonderful to see our exceptional physicians and staff recognized for their commitment to high-quality care.”

Moses Cone Heart and Vascular Center was awarded the silver award last year for 12 consecutive months of meeting the treatment standards of the American College of Cardiology Foundation.
