Health System names Chief Nursing Officer

Theresa Brodrick, RN, MSN, PhD, has been named Chief Nursing Officer and Executive Vice President for Moses Cone Health System. Brodrick starts April 25.

Theresa BrodrickBrodrick comes to Moses Cone Health System from Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ, where she was Vice President, Patient Services.

“Theresa shares our drive to improve quality and patient satisfaction,” says Terry Akin, Chief Operating Officer, Moses Cone Health System. “Her depth of experience and leadership abilities will help move Moses Cone Health System toward its goal of being a national leader in the delivery of healthcare.”

Brodrick says she is passionate about doing the right things for patients and their families. “I have found there is no better reward than to help others. The nursing profession affords nurses the ability to do just that but also provides a magnitude of different career choices within the profession that are available across the nation and around the world,” Brodrick says.

Prior to serving at Virtua Health System, Brodrick served as Chief Nursing Officer at Temple University Hospital System and at Presbyterian Medical Center, both in Philadelphia.

Brodrick received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Delaware, her master’s degree in nursing from Villanova University and her doctorate in healthcare administration from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. Brodrick has served on the faculty at Villanova University, teaching graduate courses in nursing administration.
