Horsley Promoted to Vice President and Chief Information Officer; Jenkins to Retire
Steve Horsley has been promoted to Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Cone Health. Horsley will assume this role on Jan. 1 following the retirement of John Jenkins on Dec. 31.
Horsley joined Cone Health as Vice President and Associate Chief Information Officer in November 2010 and helped spearhead the implementation of Cone HealthLink – the state-of-the-art electronic medical records system at Cone Health.
“Steve has provided exceptional direction not only for the IT team but also for staff and physicians as we undertook this ambitious and transformative project,” says Terry Akin, President and Chief Operating Officer, Cone Health. “Steve and John have worked closely for the past two years, and we could not ask for a better successor for this role.”
Before coming to Cone Health, Horsley was the chief technology officer at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. Prior to that, he was director for planning, integration and information services at Group Health, also in Seattle. He has an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Jenkins joined Cone Health in 1998. As Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Jenkins was responsible for building and maintaining the technical infrastructure connecting the five hospitals and more than 100 clinics that comprise the Cone Health network.
“John has been instrumental in developing the high-caliber teams needed to bring our very aggressive information technology plans to fruition,” Akin says. “His leadership style has been vital in bringing us to today and in laying the groundwork for tomorrow.”
