Cancer Center Hosts Cancer Survivors Day

Cone Health Cancer Center holds its 13th Annual Cancer Survivors Day on Thursday, June 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Center on the Wesley Long Hospital campus. The free event is an important part of Cone Health’s commitment to caring for patients through their treatment and beyond.

The evening celebrates and recognizes current cancer patients as well as survivors. “At Cone Health Cancer Center, we understand the importance of treating the entire person—their spiritual and emotional as well as their physical side,” says Cone Health Vice President of Oncology Services Skip Hislop. “Cancer Survivors Day is a chance to showcase some of the ways we focus on the minds and spirits of our patients and survivors.”

Cone Health Cancer Center offers a variety of programs and support groups for patients and survivors. More information is available at conehealth.com/classes.

Cone Health Cancer Center is one of only 79 cancer programs in the United States and Puerto Rico to earn the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. In fiscal year 2012, 9,283 people trusted their cancer care to the Cone Health Cancer Center.
