Cone Health Hospital-Based Rehabilitation Rated Among Best in Nation
For the third year in a row, the rehabilitation program at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital has been ranked in the top 10 percent of rehabilitation centers in the United States. The ranking comes from Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSmr), a not-for-profit organization that maintains the world’s largest database for medical rehabilitation outcomes.
“Rehabilitation is vital to getting your old life back after illness or injury,” says Anne Macner, vice president and service line administrator for Cone Health. “It is terrific to be able to continue to tell our patients that they are getting the best rehabilitation services anywhere right here at Cone Health.”
UDSmr focuses on three areas in it rankings:
• Returning the patient to his or her home or to an assisted living facility instead of a hospital.
• Keeping patients well enough to allow them to complete their rehabilitation program without additional, unplanned hospital care.
• Regaining function and independence through rehabilitation.
A team of physicians, therapists and other rehabilitation professionals of the Cone Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Center care for people who have experienced serious injury or illness, including brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, limb loss, orthopedic conditions and cancer.
The Center ranked in the 91st percentile for 2012.
