Cone Health Names New Radiation Safety Officer

 

Mark Pflug has joined Cone Health as radiation safety officer. Pflug is responsible for the safety and oversight of all radioactive material and radiation-producing devices for Cone Health. 

Pflug comes to Cone Health from Northwestern Memorial Hospital System in Chicago, where he served as the radiation safety officer and radiation safety program manager. He held similar positions at Yale University, Purdue University, the Utah Artificial Heart Institute, University of Utah and the United States Navy.

Pflug holds a Master of Science degree in health physics from Purdue University and is a 2nd year MBA student at Indiana University.

“Mark’s education, background and extensive experience in radiation safety will enable us to continue the outstanding radiation safety program we have in place,” says Dennis T. Campbell II, executive director for quality and patient safety for Cone Health.
