DeLaney Named Vice President of Nursing at Alamance Regional Medical Center

 

LaVern Delaney has been promoted to vice president of nursing for Alamance Regional Medical Center. Delaney will provide strategic leadership for the more than 900 nurses who work there.

Delaney comes to Alamance Regional from The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital where she was part of the hospital’s senior management team and the health system’s nurse executive team as director of nursing and patient services.

Delaney has been involved in implementing electronic medical records across Cone Health, served on the Cone Health Institutional Review Board and was part of the steering committee working for re-designating Cone Health hospitals through the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Recognition Program®. She also has been active with the Cone Health Diversity and Inclusion Council and with Cone Health’s cultural transformation work.

Prior to joining Cone Health in 2005, Delaney was a clinical nurse manager and a cardiac nurse specialist for Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, Va. She began her career as a registered nurse for the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Va.

Delaney earned a Master of Business Administration/Master of Health Administration degree from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte. She also holds Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees from the University of Virginia School of Nursing.
