Cone Health Cancer Center Named to List of Great Oncology Programs
Cone Health Cancer Center has been named to the Becker's Hospital Review list of "100 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Oncology Programs." According to Becker’s, organizations on the 2014 list are leading the way in quality patient care, cancer outcomes and research.
“Cancer patients don’t want to spend day after day on the road traveling back and forth to distant appointments,” says Cone Health Cancer Center Vice President Skip Hislop. “They want the latest treatments and a compassionate staff close to home. Cone Health Cancer Center provides that.”
Cone Health Cancer Center is based at Wesley Long Hospital and provides services at Alamance Regional Medical Center, Annie Penn Hospital, MedCenter High Point and through the Randolph Cancer Center at Randolph Hospital.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on rankings and awards they have received from a variety of reputable sources. The following awards were considered as part of the criteria for inclusion on the list: U.S. News & World Report cancer rankings, Truven Health Analytics, CareChex cancer care rankings, National Cancer Institute designations, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditations, American Nurses Credentialing Center designations and Blue Distinction Center recognition from the BlueCross BlueShield Association.
