Free Cervical Cancer Screenings in Madison and Brown Summit

Cervical cancer largely can be prevented. Still, there were more than 12,000 new cases according to the National Cancer Institute. One of the best ways to prevent cervical cancer is through regular screenings. That is why Cone Health Cancer Center holds free cervical cancer screenings in the communities it serves. The next ones are:

  • Monday, March 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Brown Summit Family Medicine, 4901 N.C. Highway 150 E., Brown Summit.
  • Monday, April 14, from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. at Western Rockingham Family Medicine, 401 W. Decatur St., Madison.

The screenings are for women ages 21 and older who are sexually active or have been sexually active, and have never had a Pap test or have not had a Pap test within the last two years. The screenings are only open to women who do not have insurance or cannot afford to visit their regular physicians.

Registration is required. Interested women should call 832-8000.
