LeBauer HeartCare Practices Receive Echocardiography Accreditation
LeBauer HeartCare at Burlington and LeBauer HeartCare at Morehead have been granted three-year terms of accreditation in echocardiography in the areas of adult transthoracic by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). Echocardiography procedures are used in the early detection of life-threatening heart disorders and other diseases.
“Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in our area. High-quality testing is an important part of an accurate diagnosis,” says LeBauer HealthCare Chief Technologist Missy Al-Rammal. “Voluntary accreditation is one way we demonstrate that we meet the latest standards and provide the highest-quality care to our patients.”
Accreditation by the IAC means that LeBauer HeartCare at Burlington and LeBauer HeartCare at Morehead have undergone a thorough review of operational and technical components by a panel of experts. The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including detailed case study review.
IAC accreditation is a “seal of approval” that patients can rely on as an indication that the facility has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by medical experts in the field of echocardiography. Accreditation is required in some states and regions by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and by some private insurers.
