Lundy Receives Award of Excellence
Cone Health Heart and Vascular Center and Imaging Services Vice President Rich Lundy has been awarded the ACCA Award of Excellence from the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators. The award recognizes an administrator who has helped improve cardiovascular care through outstanding leadership and creative solutions to problems.
“Rich has provided great leadership in improving technology while keeping our focus on providing outstanding patient care for our cardiovascular patients,” says Cone Health Executive Vice President and The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital President Judy Schanel. “It is great to see him recognized for the terrific job he does.”
He joined the Cone Health Heart and Vascular Center in 2011.
Lundy was nominated for this award by industry peers. To become eligible for the annual Award of Excellence, the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators requires nominees to meet its core competencies of leadership, creativity, knowledge and professionalism in the field of cardiovascular services.
Under Lundy’s leadership, the Cone Health Heart and Vascular Center has received the Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ 3-Star rating (its highest) for coronary bypass surgery for the fourth consecutive year. The Center is also ranked among the top 10 percent of programs in the nation for medical excellence in major cardiac surgery and coronary bypass surgery by CareChex®—a division of Comparion.
