Cone Health Urgent Care Closes for Upgrades

The facility will reopen in a new location until renovations are complete.

Faster service, more privacy and an upgraded waiting room will soon greet patients at the Cone Health Urgent Care Center at 1123 N Church St. in Greensboro. But first the 7,000-square-feet facility will move to a temporary location while the renovations take place.

Urgent Care Center at Moses Cone Hospital

The urgent care center on the Moses Cone Hospital campus will close on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. It will reopen temporarily in Suite 1 of the Parkview Plaza at 1317 N. Elm St., on Monday, Aug. 31, at 8 a.m. This will allow crews to begin renovations. It is expected that the project will be completed by Dec. 1.

“This is about improving the experience of our patients,” says Cone Health Urgent Care Director Sendee Casstevens. “We wish we could keep our current location open during this project. But this is a full-service urgent care. Staying in place with construction going on wasn’t practical.”

The half-million dollar renovation is directed at improving services. A triage room will be added to speed care and get patients home sooner.  A nursing station will be built to improve staff efficiency.

The phone number-- 336-832-4400 -- will not change during the project. Cone Health Urgent Care Center is a member of Cone Health Medical Group.
