The south entrance to The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital will close on May 1 to all vehicles. This is the East Northwood Street entrance to the hospital.

Moses Cone Hospital is taking steps to minimize the expected congestion to the main entrance off of Church Street. (1121 N. Church St.)Visitors to Moses Cone Hospital are urged to use the main hospital entrance off of North Church Street. This does not impact people coming to the hospital to use the emergency department. Foot traffic is not effected.

  • Patients and guests should allow extra time for arrival and departure.
  • Patients and guests should park in the main patient parking deck or use the free valet parking at the Church Street entrance.
  • The driveway to the hospital’s main entrance is being expanded. Reserved parking is being created for heart and vascular specialty clinic patients.

Closing the south entrance of Moses Cone Hospital, off of Norwood Street, is being done to allow site preparations to begin on the planned Women’s Hospital building. The six-story tower, scheduled for completion in 2020, is intended to provide exceptional care for women and babies in our region for decades to come.

Closing the south entrance allows excavation, utility work and other site preparation activities to begin. Final design work on the project is underway with groundbreaking in August. More information people can go to conehealth.com/reinventingcare.
