You’ll stay close to your family and support system while benefiting from specialized care that could save your life or a limb.

State-Designated Level II Trauma Center

The State of North Carolina Office of Emergency Services has designated Moses Cone Hospital as a Level II Trauma Center with the required resources, personnel, and staff education and training. We were first verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons in 2009.

Count on us for 24/7 access to general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery and other critical services and resources that improve your outcome.

Continuum of Care

Find a partner at Moses Cone Hospital for your entire trauma care journey—from the emergency department to intensive care to rehabilitation. If your child is seriously injured, you’ll appreciate our pediatric emergency department and pediatric intensive care unit staffed by compassionate specialists in children’s medical care.

Trauma Team

You’ll be in the skilled hands of a team of experts, including licensed physicians and nurses with trauma-specific certifications and training in adult trauma, pediatric emergency care and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®). You also benefit from surgeons, anesthesiologists, radiologists and a variety of other experts who specialize in trauma care and commit to helping you recover.

Trauma Quality Improvement Program

You can trust us for excellent care because we participate in the American College of Surgeons Trauma Quality Improvement Program (ACS TQIP®). That means your trauma team receives ongoing feedback on the quality of care the Level II Trauma Center provides, compared to other centers across the nation. We provide training in treating specific types of injuries and certain populations, and your providers continually enhance the care you receive.

Injury Prevention

Reduce your child’s risk of an injury by taking advantage of resources available through Safe Guilford/Safe Kids Guilford County—a coalition including Cone Health and community groups. Learn how to properly install car seats, determine whether you qualify for a reduced-cost car seat, and discover ways to help your children stay safe while they ride bicycles or walk to school.
