Our Cone Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Center is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation, and for stroke and brain injury specialty programs.
Our accreditation means our program and business practices have been examined by a team of expert practitioners and found to conform with a series of rigorous and internationally recognized CARF standards. By undergoing this process, we can assure our patients that our program and facilities are of the highest quality.
Our program is patient-focused and emphasizes an integrated and individualized approach to services and outcomes. Our interdisciplinary team of professionals provides best-in-class patient care, and our medical team includes physicians who are Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
ACBIS Alliance Member and Award
We are recognized as an Alliance Member with the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists, which recognizes the fact that a minimum of 20 percent of our brain injury service providers are eligible for national certification and are in fact Certified Brain Injury Specialists.
The requirements of certification include demonstrating an understanding of brain injury and brain injury systems of care, and meeting experiential requirements.
In addition, we hold the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists’Alliance Member Award. This award recognizes and honors providers of brain injury services who support and encourage national certification of their staff and thereby demonstrate a commitment to provide higher quality services to brain injury patients.
National Stroke Association Affiliation
Our Cone Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Center is a Stroke Rehabilitation and Recovery Network Member with the National Stroke Association (NSA).
Our affiliation with the NSA provides additional opportunities for professional networking, sharing best practices, and accessing a wealth of education and other resources for our stroke program.
For the second consecutive year, hospital-based rehabilitation services at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital are in the top 10 percent of U.S. hospital rehabilitation centers as determined by the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSmr).
UDSmr is a not-for-profit organization affiliated with the University of Buffalo, which maintains the world’s largest database of medical rehabilitation outcomes. The group ranks rehabilitation centers based on their success in three areas:
- Returning people to their home or to an assisted living facility instead of a hospital.
- Keeping patients well enough to allow them to complete their rehabilitation program without additional, unplanned hospital care.
- Regaining function and independence through rehabilitation.
