Limb Loss and Prosthetics Program
The loss of a limb is a traumatic experience that demands intensive retraining in the basics of everyday living. The experts in the Limb Loss and Prosthetics Program at Cone Health Neurorehabilitation Center can help stabilize your life. In our program, patients regain much of their independence through proper fitting and training in the use of an artificial limb.
Our Therapy Approach
Specialized physical and/or occupational therapy for prosthetic training is a key to success for our patients. All patients receive a physical and/or occupational therapy evaluation, and the results of this evaluation are used to formulate an individualized treatment plan. Individual therapy sessions teach patients how to efficiently manage their prosthesis. Proper prosthetic fit and function are monitored continually during therapy visits.
Our therapists work closely with patients and their families to maximize self-reliance in the home and community, and at work or school.
Our goal is to return you to your home and community with the highest level of independence possible.
