Evaluation, training and education are the hallmarks of the Occupational Rehabilitation Programs at Cone Health. Our expert staff works closely with individuals to assist with an early return-to-work. We also work with businesses to promote injury prevention.
On-site appraisals of work settings are performed to assist employers in identifying cost-efficient, ergonomic solutions. Instructional programs on posture, body mechanics, lifting, moving techniques and exercises to reduce fatigue, stress, and strain are also provided.
After an injury or illness, the physical demands of work can exceed an individual’s abilities. We offer a work-conditioning program, which focuses on improving strength and fitness while teaching appropriate body mechanics. The program uses job simulation exercises and ergonomic principlesmto improve overall conditioning and enhance employment opportunities.
Functional Capacity Evaluation
The Blankenship Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) provides an objective assessment of an injured worker’s ability to return to work. FCEs provide information about strength, endurance, cardiovascular fitness, physical impairment and motivation.
This information is used to define appropriate activity levels for return to work.
