Osteoporosis Program

After a diagnosis of osteoporosis or osteopenia, reduce your risk of bone fractures with Cone Health’s Osteoporosis Program.

Attention & Expertise

You’ll work one-on-one with a physical therapist trained in the Meeks Method, a 12-step program shown to effectively prevent, manage or improve symptoms of osteopenia, osteoporosis and postural problems.

Personalized Treatment Plan

Begin with a comprehensive assessment. Your therapist will assess your posture, height, range of motion, strength, balance and more. If you’ve had a bone density test, such as a DEXA scan, bring your test results.

Learn More

Visit our online health library to learn about the symptoms and risk factors for osteoporosis and osteopenia.

Your therapist will ask about your goals, and then you’ll work together to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs. You can expect to see your physical therapist for 45-minute sessions once or twice a week for four to six weeks.

You’ll learn about your condition, body mechanics and safe movement. You’ll also get a personalized home exercise program.

How You’ll Benefit

When you follow your physical therapist’s recommendations and home exercise program, you can expect benefits such as:

  • A stronger core
  • Better balance
  • Less pain
  • Increased height due to improved upright posture
  • Improved confidence, outlook and quality of life
