  • Baby & Me

    Discuss newborn & infant parenting and family adjustment issues with other new mothers in a relaxed environment. Each week brings a new speaker or baby-centered activity. We encourage mothers to join us every Thursday in the Women's Hospital Education Center at 11:00am. Babies birth until crawling. No registration or fee.

  • Big Brother/Big Sister

    Let your children share in the joy of a new brother or sister in this special class designed just for them. Activities include discussing how families care for babies and a short tour of the hospital. This class is designed for children ages 2 to 6, but any age is welcome. Please register each child individually. ***Bring a stuffed animal or doll for your child to practice diapering and swaddling.

  • Breastfeeding Support Group

    This group is a mother-to-mother support circle where moms have the opportunity to share their breastfeeding experiences. A Lactation Consultant is present for questions and concerns. An infant scale is available for weight checks. This service is FREE and no appointment is needed. (Meets in the Women’s Hospital Education Center each Tuesday at 11:00am and each Monday at 7:00pm)

  • Breastfeeding Your Baby

    Breastfeeding is a special time for mother and child. Like any new skill, breastfeeding will be more successful with early preparation and practice. This class will help you feel ready to begin this important relationship. Your partner is encouraged to attend with you. This class meets for two consecutive weeks. Week 1- Learn what to expect in the first days of breastfeeding your newborn. This class will help you feel more confident with the skills needed to begin your breastfeeding experience. Week 2- Many new mothers are concerned about breastfeeding after leaving the hospital. This class will address the most common fears and challenges about breastfeeding during the first few weeks, months and beyond. We will build on the skills learned in week 1. (If you select a 9:00am-12:00pm class, all information from week one and week two will be covered in one class.)

  • Caring for Baby

    This class is for expectant and adoptive parents who want to learn and practice the most up-to-date newborn care for their babies. Focus is on birth through the first six weeks of life. Topics include feeding, bathing, diapering, crying, umbilical cord care, circumcision care and safe sleep. Parents learn to recognize symptoms of illness and when to call the pediatrician. Register only the mom-to-be and your partner can plan to come with you! ***PLEASE NOTE: This class is included in the "Birth & Baby" series and the "Condensed Birth & Baby" classes.

  • Childbirth Class Option 1 - A Natural Childbirth (WH)

    This series of 5 weekly classes is for expectant parents who want to learn and practice natural methods of coping with the process of labor and childbirth.

  • Childbirth Class Option 2 - Birth & Baby Greensboro (WH)

    This option of five weekly classes helps you and your labor partner prepare for childbirth. Topics include newborn care, labor & birth, cesarean birth, pain management, comfort techniques and a tour of Women’s Hospital.

  • Childbirth Class Option 3 - Condensed Birth & Baby (WH)

    This class is a condensed version of our Birth & Baby series for parents who have a difficult time fitting 5 weeks of classes into their schedule.

  • Daddy Boot Camp

    This course offers Dads-to-be the tools and knowledge needed to feel confident on their journey to becoming new fathers. Experienced dads who have been trained as coaches, teach dads-to-be how to hold, comfort, diaper, swaddle and play with their infant while being able to support the new mom as well. A class for men taught by men.

  • Grandparent Love

    Expecting a grandbaby? This class is for you! Learn about the latest infant care and safety recommendations and ways to give your own child support as he or she transitions into the parenting role. Taught by Registered Nurses who are childbirth instructors, but most importantly...they are grandmothers too!
