Community Benefit

Community benefits are programs and services designed to improve health in communities that we serve. These activities address community health needs identified in the Cone Health Community Health Needs Assessment.

Community benefit reporting practices are used to capture the activities and programs across the system that benefit our communities. By documenting these activities and programs, we can improve our efforts to address health needs while measuring impact.

Our Impact

Cone Health is a not-for-profit health care network serving people in Alamance, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham and surrounding counties.

One example of a community benefit event that has helped community members is the Cone Health Women’s Heart Community Event. The goal of this free event was to provide educational sessions, classes, a women’s health expo, and free health screenings. During this event, one community member received a free blood pressure screening, which led to the discovery of her elevated blood pressure. The Cone Health team quickly mobilized to get her an appointment at the Patient Care Center, labs checked, prescriptions ordered, and a home blood pressure machine for further monitoring.

Cone Health hopes to continue to make an impact in the community with similar events.
