Dave Jenkins

Dave Jenkins serves as vice president and administrator of behavioral health services at Cone Health. In this role, he leads operations at the Behavioral Health Hospital and oversees behavioral health initiatives across the health system. 

Jenkins joined Cone Health in 2012 and has held leadership roles spanning hospital operations, medical group management, and service lines including bariatrics, dietetics, diabetes education, and sleep disorders. He was promoted to executive director of behavioral health services in 2022 before stepping into his current role. 

A Senior Enlisted Leader with more than 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, Jenkins brings a mission-driven approach and deep operational expertise to his work.  

He holds an MBA from UNC-Greensboro, a master’s degree from Slippery Rock University, and a bachelor’s degree from UNC-Asheville. Jenkins is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Certified Medical Practice Executive. 

He sits on the board of directors for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of the Triad as well as the ACHE national committee for higher education networks. Jenkins also serves on the North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA) behavioral health advisory committee and the National Association of Behavioral Health hospital systems committee.
