DeAnne Brooks, PharmD
Chief Pharmacy Officer
DeAnne Brooks, PharmD, serves as the chief pharmacy officer for Cone Health. She is responsible for ensuring patients have the right pharmacy care through expert knowledge with the support of the latest technology. The pharmacy team is comprised of almost 400 pharmacists, certified pharmacy technicians and support team members. Brooks supports pharmacy education programs including pharmacy residency programs (Cone Health has 20 residents), schools of pharmacy (relationships with UNC, Campbell University and High Point University pharmacy schools), and the pharmacy technician program at GTCC.
Brooks received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and her Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)-accredited residency at Cone Health. Brooks began as a clinical pharmacist and has served as an oncology pharmacist, the manager of the Women’s Hospital pharmacy and director of pharmacy at Moses Cone Hospital before becoming chief pharmacy officer for Cone Health.
Brooks is a member of the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists. She was honored as the Health System Pharmacist of the year in 2021. In 2020, Brooks was named an Outstanding Woman in Business by the Triad Business Journal. She serves on the board of the Greensboro HealthShare Credit Union and is a certified management coach.
