Senior Vice President, Behavioral Health, Women’s and Children’s Services
Debbie Cunningham, DNP, MSN, RN, is senior vice president for Behavioral Health & Women's and Children's Services at Cone Health.
Cunningham previously served as interim president at Behavioral Health Hospital and vice president of nursing at Annie Penn Hospital.
Cunningham holds a doctorate degree in nursing practice from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa; a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville; and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from West Virginia University, Morganton. She also has a post-master’s certificate as an adult/gerontological nurse practitioner from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Cunningham is a Robert Woods Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow. She serves as an American Hospital Association delegate to the Section for Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services.
Cunningham is an active participant with Rotary International, Kiwanis, and National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems. She has served as the president of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Nursing Alumni Association and volunteers in communities with underserved populations.
