Preston Hammock

Preston Hammock serves as senior vice president, business and partnership development. In this role, Hammock is focused on identifying and cultivating enterprise-wide business and partnership opportunities that align with Cone Health’s strategic priorities.

Previously, Hammock served as senior vice president, Cone Health and regional president for Cone Health's Greensboro market. Since joining Alamance Regional Medical Center in 2006, he has served in various senior leadership roles, including the president of Alamance Regional and, following that, president of The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Hammock holds a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University.

Hammock is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and recipient of the group’s 2013 Regent Award. Hammock is a graduate of the Academy GE Fellow's Program as well as the Leadership Greensboro and Leadership Alamance programs. He is the 2019 recipient of the Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Award. Hammock was named to Business Leader magazine's Movers and Shakers list. He was named to the Business Journal's 40 Leaders Under 40 list in 2009.

Hammock serves on the Executive Committee of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as well as the Board of the North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA). He also serves on the President's Advisory Council at Elon University and volunteers with the Duke University Alumni Admissions Association.
