President, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and Senior Vice President, Cone Health
Preston Hammock serves as president of The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and senior vice president of Cone Health. Hammock manages the hospital’s day-to-day operations. He was promoted to this role in 2019.
Hammock joined Alamance Regional in 2006 and served in various senior leadership roles becoming hospital president in 2013.
Hammock holds a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Benjamin Rodin Scholar, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University.
Hammock is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the recipient of the group’s 2013 Regent Award. Hammock is a graduate of the Academy GE Fellow's Program.
In 2009, Hammock was named one of the 40 Leaders Under 40, by The Triad Business Journal, and in 2011 was recognized as one of Business Leader magazine’s Movers and Shakers. He serves on the President's Advisory Council at Elon University and is a board member for the South Atlantic Healthcare Alliance
