Ryan Christensen
Chief Value-Based Care Officer

Ryan Christensen, Cone Health’s Chief Value-Based Care Officer, leads the organization’s efforts to advance value-based care and population health, ensuring these strategies are fully integrated across the health system to improve outcomes, enhance the patient experience and reduce the total cost of care.
Value-based care is a payment model that focuses on improving quality and outcomes while managing costs across populations. By aligning care delivery, payment models and community resources, this approach emphasizes prevention, care coordination and long-term health improvement.
Christensen joined Cone Health in 2026 from Intermountain Health, where he served as enterprise vice president of operations for proactive care services. In that role, he led large-scale population health and value-based care initiatives supporting more than one million covered lives and helped drive significant improvements in financial and clinical performance across Medicare Advantage and other risk-based models.
Christensen’s background includes extensive experience in medical group operations, business development and hospital operations. He has led complex operational turnarounds, built integrated care models and executed growth strategies that strengthened performance and expanded access to care in competitive markets.
Prior to Intermountain Health, Christensen held leadership roles with Dignity Health, where he served as chief operating officer and senior operations leader, overseeing hospital operations, service line growth and strategic initiatives.
Christensen earned his Master of Business Administration and his bachelor’s degree in physiology from Brigham Young University.
