William Curran, MD

Senior Vice President, President and Chief Medical Officer, Cone Health Medical Group 

Dr. William Curran is President and Chief Medical Officer for Cone Health Medical Group. He is also a Cone Health Senior Vice President. Dr. Curran is accountable for advancing quality and safety, strengthening professional standards and enhancing provider engagement at provider practices.

Prior to joining Cone Health in 2024, Dr. Curran served in numerous senior leadership roles at Prisma Health, a $5 billion health system in South Carolina. He also served as Regional Market President for UpStream Health, supporting primary care providers in innovative risk-based care models.

Dr. Curran earned his medical degree from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and his undergraduate degree at Georgia State University in Atlanta. He is board-certified in Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Internal Medicine.
