Meghan Stout, Wesley Long

Meghan Stout, Wesley LongMeghan was nominated by Marilyn Everhart, who submitted the nomination below.

Why would you like to nominate this person as a Wellness Superhero?

I would like to nominate Meghan Stout as a Wellness Superhero because she is the one that first encouraged me to train for the Women's Only 5K back in 2017. I trained for several months and ended up falling in love with running. We both completed the 5K, and Meghan has gone on to complete multiple 5Ks and half marathons. She also recently completed her first marathon in Richmond, Virginia. I would never have started training if it weren't for Meghan's encouragement. She deserves this award!

What inspired this person to get healthy and stay healthy?

Training for marathons is definitely something that inspired Meghan to go to fitness classes in the past. Although she was fit before, all her training allows her to sign up for more difficult classes and work toward more goals.

Which Cone Health Wellness programs does this person participate in?

We have both been involved in the Green Valley Exercise classes for a couple of years now (especially spin class, we LOVE spin class!), and Meghan also entered the Women's Running School last year.

If you could say one thing to other employees to inspire them, what would you say?

Get out there and do something! Speaking for myself, getting involved in spin class and running are two of the best decisions I've ever made for myself. I used to hate exercising, but now it's become something that I look forward to doing. I actually feel "not right" when I don't complete my workouts regularly. Get out of your comfort zone and you might surprise yourself!
