Ralph Nettey, MD
Class of 2017
What are you up to now?
I am currently working as a full time hospitalist with the Triad Hospitalists group at Moses Cone Hospital. I generally work between two hospitals in the Cone network different weeks throughout the year. I work seven days on and seven days off.
What did you like about our residency program?
I believe I was a compassionate clinician before going through residency, but my residency experience definitely reinforced that compassionate aspect of my care. There were many great examples of attending physicians that not only cared about the academics of medicine, but about the patients that we serve in our community (usually those who are underserved).
In what ways did our program prepare you for life after residency?
Although I actually planned to pursue outpatient/preventive medicine when I was applying to residency, I still wanted to go to a program that was full-scope. After completing my residency, and now deciding to pursue inpatient medicine, I like that my residency training has allowed me the flexibility to choose and be competent in both inpatient and outpatient medicine.
