Sports Medicine Fellows

Brian Atkinson, MD

Brian Atkinson, MD

Dr. Brian Atkinson was born and raised in the small beach town of Melbourne Beach, FL. He attended college at Duke University, and then earned his MD at University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL. He then returned to the great state of North Carolina for his Family Medicine Residency at MAHEC in Asheville, NC.

Brian is passionate about Exercise as Medicine, and helping his patients to continue to do the exercise they enjoy. In his free time, Brian enjoys running (especially in trails), hiking, camping, and spending time with his 1-year-old daughter, Andie and his wife, Kayla.

Katherine Bohringer

Katherine Bohringer, DO

Katie is from Columbus, OH, and went to medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Seton Hill. She went on to complete residency in Family Medicine at Joint-Base Lewis McCord in Tacoma, WA, before serving four years with the 52nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group in Ft Campbell, KY. She is now thrilled to find herself on a new journey in Greensboro.

In her free time, Kate enjoys medieval combatives, running with her dog (Riley the Horrible), camping, and herding her two rambunctious daughters. Kate strongly believes that 'Movement is Life' and has found a passion in helping her patients rediscover their love of adventure as they recover from the ailments that have held them back.

Tim Lockamy

Tim Lockamy, DO

Dr. Lockamy was born and raised in Durham, NC. He attended NC State University and is a loyal supporter (perhaps to a fault) of the Wolfpack. He has two dogs, Bowser and Momo, and they love going to the various dog parks and public parks in Greensboro. When they aren’t going for walks, Tim likes to play golf.

Dr. Lockamy has enjoyed living in the Greensboro area for residency here at Cone Health for the past three years and looks forward to his time as a Sports Medicine fellow throughout the 2021-2022 year!
