OSHA Compliance and Testing
Managing OSHA compliance can feel like a maze for companies who don’t have a full-time staff member devoted to the job. Cone Health Employee Health & Wellness has doctors, nurses, and other providers who know OSHA laws and guidelines. Our team can help you understand which rules apply to your company, create a plan for implementing them, provide testing, and monitor the health of employees.
We can help companies with OSHA standards around the following areas:
Bloodborne pathogens and first aid
Emergency action plan and fire safety
Hazardous materials exposure
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection and pulmonary function tests
Respirator Fit Testing
Employees who are exposed to dust, vapor, gases, sprays, fumes, or smoke are subject to OSHA’s respiratory standards. Cone Health Employee Health & Wellness conducts respirator fit tests for both supplied-air and air-purifying respirators. Read more about OSHA’s respiratory protection rules and guidance.
Hearing and Vision Screenings
OSHA requires employers to provide a hearing conservation program when employee noise exposures are equal to or exceed 85 decibels (dB) averaged over eight working hours, or an eight-hour time-weighted average (TWA). Hearing tests, known as audiograms, should be conducted at the time of pre-employment for baseline testing, annually, and when an employee leaves the job. Cone Health Employee Health & Wellness offers audiograms at each of these phases of employment.
For jobs that require vision tests, our team also provides vision screening. These screenings can include visual acuity, ocular muscle function, color vision testing, and screening for eye diseases.
