Tell us what makes Carol a Wellness Superhero.
Carol lost her husband six months ago after 21 years battling cancer. She says she gained a lot of weight over that time as she had been devoting her energy to taking care of her husband. Since his passing, she has rededicated herself to improving her health and wellness through bringing better balance into her life!
What inspired Carol to get healthy and stay healthy?
Carol says her main inspiration for getting healthy was her family and her desire to be healthy for them. She states that they had suffered enough through watching and taking care of her husband and their dad. She made a commitment to reducing her sugar intake and being physically active every day! She has lost a total of 50 pounds and feeling better than ever.
Are there any activities or hobbies that Carol participates in that she didn’t before?
Carol likes to take long walks more often now and has started spending more time outside working in her yard.
If you could say one thing to other employees to inspire them, what would you say?
Take the time to care for yourself. Find the time to exercise (even if it is just 20 minutes at lunchtime) and know that choosing healthy foods and snacks will make a big impact in the long run.
