Tell us what makes Samira a Wellness Superhero.
Samira says she is a Wellness Superhero because she has chosen to make a lifelong commitment to wellness. Samira understands that wellness encompasses physical, emotional, and mental health! This past year, Samira has gone to therapy in addition to incorporating exercise into her weekly routine and changing her eating habits.
What inspired Samira to get healthy and stay healthy?
Samira says that 2019 was a hard year for her and that she was inspired to make a change so that she could gain more control of her life. She decided to start an 8-week exercise program, improve her eating habits, and to find additional ways to be active throughout her day. These changes as well as attending therapy helped Samira to see significant improvements in her energy levels, mood, and thoughts. She says she is happier and better able to cope with whatever challenges life brings her. Knowing that improving her well-being is what led to a more balanced and healthier lifestyle is what keeps her motivated to up these commitments.
Are there any activities or hobbies that Samira participates in that she didn’t before?
Samira began an 8-week workout plan and she began walking at the Cone Hospital Heart Walk Course.
If you could say one thing to other employees to inspire them, what would you say?
The health and wellness journey is lifelong. Wherever you are in the journey: get started, keep going, and don’t quit.
