Alan Wilson Cooper, MD
Alan Cooper, MD, is a community pediatrician and a partner in the Greensboro practice of Carolina Pediatrics of the Triad. In addition to seeing patients in private practice, he has served as an assistant professor of pediatrics for UNC since 2010. He has been a member of the professional advisory team for Kids Path Community Alliance and was a part of the first-ever board for Heartstrings Support, a support community for grieving parents, where he served from 2007 to 2009.
His research on exercise and obesity for children was published in the US National Library of Medicine. Read his coauthored work here. He received the 2003 Harvey Hamrick Outstanding Resident Teaching Award.
He is addicted to fishing and tennis and holds the 2016 Lawndale Tennis Club Singles Champion title. He volunteers at the Grace Community Church Homeless Shelter and loves to watch his boys play soccer and swim in a community league. His wife, Julie Cooper, PharmD, is a professor of pharmacy at High Point University.
