Biography
Angela Hartsell, MD, MPH, is a hospitalist* board certified in pediatrics, pediatric hospital medicine and clinical informatics. She is a faculty member of the Cone Health Pediatric Teaching Service. Her professional interests include pediatric hospital medicine, care of newborns, clinical informatics and technological advancements that improve the lives of providers and patients.
As a child of new immigrants, she grew up in Greensboro without understanding how to effectively access healthcare without insurance. This led her to work in Washington, DC, advocating for Medicaid expansion and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and took her to Malawi with Save the Children. An excellent communicator, she believes a family-centered, collaborative and evidence-based approach is essential to caring for children.
