Christopher Mattern, MD is a neuroradiologist with Greensboro Radiology, serving Cone Health’s inpatient and outpatient imaging needs. His interest in medicine began with childhood health challenges and a fascination with anatomy, which led him to radiology—a field that combines advanced technology with critical diagnostic collaboration. He values the role radiologists play in guiding other physicians toward accurate diagnoses.
Outside of work, Dr. Mattern enjoys staying active with his two sons. A longtime road cyclist, he recently took up rowing, a sport he shares with his eldest son, who rows at UNC.
