Biography

Collin-Jamal Smith, PhD, MD, specializes in dermatology. His doctorate in immunology gives him a broad perspective and gentle approach to adult general dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Dr. Smith does not currently perform cosmetic procedures. 

Warm, welcoming and compassionate, he strives to collaborate with patients and ensure they are on the same team. A shared goal with his patients is to maximize their skin health and minimize the impact of skin disease on their lives. Patients decide their clinical endpoint, and he empowers them to achieve it.

In his spare time, he enjoys visiting science museums, traveling, weightlifting and studying astronomy.

Dr Smith is absolutely awesome- so caring & professional!! He understands the situation with my mom's dementia & lack of hearing - and always gets down to her level (in a wheelchair) to speak to her w/ explanations. He never hesitates to answer her repeated same questions - as many times as she asks them. These are all characteristics of a fabulous Dr & one that I won't hesitate to recommend to others!!

Dr. Smith is one of a kind! His attention to detail, explanation of issue and solution in words that the patient and family can understand, and the care he gives is a renewed faith in the medical profession. So many times, we go into an appointment and due to my Dad's health and issues, I feel we are rushed and not given time because he is older and we know he doesn't have a lot of time. Dr. Smith not only treats my Dad like any other patient, but he makes sure we understand what is happening, he wants to make sure my Dad is comfortable and isn't experiencing any pain. The patient is the main priority when he is in the room. He can be a model for Cone Health so that others could learn from him!
