After more than 40 years in practice, Edward Lee Hawkins, MD, is still passionate about serving as a board-certified internal and pulmonary medicine physician. Since 1985, he has practiced medicine in the Reidsville, North Carolina, area.
Hawkins has served as chief of medicine, chief of staff and as a member and chairman of the Annie Penn Hospital Board of Directors, overseeing the merger with Cone Health. Since 2006, he has been a member of The Moses H. Cone Hospital board of directors.
Born in a small West Virginia town, Hawkins was raised in Alabama. He continues to be a fan of the Auburn Tigers, his undergraduate alma mater and enjoys spending time with his wife Jodi, their three children and grandchild.
