Krishnan Promoted to Executive Medical Director of Triad Hospitalists
Dr. Sendil Krishnan has been promoted to executive medical director of Triad Hospitalists. As executive medical director, Krishnan provides administrative and clinical leadership to 45 hospitalists working in Cone Health hospitals. He joined the Cone Health medical staff in 2004 as a member of Eagle Hospitalists group.
“ The promotion of Dr. Krishnan is richly deserved,” says Cone Health Vice President of Medical Affairs Dr. Bill Bowman. “I believe he will lead Triad Hospitalists to outstanding clinical performance and ‘the next level’ of satisfaction for both our patients and physicians.”
Krishnan has held various leadership positions, including medical director of Eagle Hospitalists, medical director for Triad Hospitalists at Moses Cone Hospital and interim executive medical director for Triad Hospitalists. Krishnan is a member of the operating committee for Triad Healthcare Network. Krishnan is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh.
Hospitalists are physicians specializing in the care of people who are in the hospital. They coordinate medical tests, seek input from other specialists as appropriate and communicate with the patient’s primary care physician.
Triad Hospitalists manage the care of nearly 40 percent of the patients in The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital and Annie Penn Hospital. Bowman credits Krishnan’s leadership with substantial improvements in quality including fewer heart failure and pneumonia patients returning to the hospital for care after discharge.
