Biography
Kelly Teal Barrett, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist with extensive experience in outpatient pediatric rehabilitation and as a private practice owner. Also, she is a certified handwriting specialist and Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) trained feeding therapist. Her professional interests include sensory integration, sensory processing, self-regulation, teaching mindfulness, reflex integration, autism spectrum disorders, executive functioning, dysgraphia and neuro-developmental treatment.
Using a child- and family-centered approach to care, she takes time to understand each child and their family to develop effective, individualized treatment plans. She has a strong ability to connect and communicate with children across a wide range of abilities. Striving to make occupational therapy enjoyable, she engages children in meaningful activities and fosters supportive relationships with the families she serves.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and dog. Her hobbies include reading, yoga and tennis.
