Kim G. Hoover, MD, is board certified in psychiatry and child/adolescent psychiatry. She evaluates and treats children and adolescents with mood and anxiety disorders, attention and learning difficulties, developmental disorders and other concerns.
Warm, personable, responsive and non-judgmental, she has a great respect for parents and children who are having difficulties and reaching out for help. She believes in collaborating as a team based on mutual respect and trust with each child and family. Working together, they can understand problems, develop and implement appropriate treatments, and move forward together to see progress.
Dr. Hoover has volunteered with a mission organization to develop curriculum and provide training to caregivers working with children who have experienced trauma. She has traveled with this organization to train people in the Philippines, Haiti and Ethiopia as well as trained participants in the U.S. who were from many diverse countries.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, doing crossword puzzles (in pen) and reading.
“I have a passion for working with children, for hearing their voice in order to understand their problems, and then, serving as a bridge between children and the adults in their world to facilitate improvement in their situation.” – Kim G. Hoover, MD
