Laura Lovvorn, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist. Her areas of expertise include adult populations with aphasia, dysphagia, dysarthria, apraxia and Parkinson’s disease. In addition, she treats patients who have suffered from stroke or brain injuries or who have other cognition or voice issues.
She enjoys being able to improve her patients’ quality of life and family relationships. She uses humor and a lighthearted approach to make her patients feel comfortable working on skills that may be challenging for them. Also, she is honest with her patients about their issues and how this will impact their day-to-day lives.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach and participating in aerobics.
“Focusing on important functional activities and motivating my patients are my priority. I work with each patient to identify ways to compensate for their communication and cognitive difficulties while they are rehabilitating.” – Laura Lovvorn, SLP
