Biography
Dr. Matt Wakefield is a US Army Veteran, specializing in surgical treatment of benign breast disease and breast cancer with concern for cosmetic and medical outcomes. He’s a certified Hidden Scar™ surgeon and performs nipple-sparing mastectomies. He helped bring the ground-breaking Radioactive Seed Localization (RSL) technology to Greensboro.
He also performs minimally invasive and emergency general surgery.
As the Medical Director of the Cone Health Breast Cancer Program, he’s integral to Greensboro’s Breast Care Alliance. The Alliance coordinates every step of care for patients facing breast cancer throughout the ten-county Cone Health region.
