Biography
Michael Sherk, PT, DPT, has a doctor of physical therapy degree, and leads the physical therapy practice at MedCenter Mebane. He earned his doctorate in physical therapy from Elon University and his undergraduate degree in health and exercise science from Wake Forest University.
Prior to joining MedCenter Mebane, Sherk was an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist at Alamance Regional Medical Center for more than a decade and served as a teaching and laboratory assistant for the Elon University doctorate of physical therapy program.
Sherk is a Certified Clinical Instructor and Clinical Coordinator for students. In addition, he is a Physical Work Performance Evaluator for Functional Capacity Evaluations as well as a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist and is certified to provide intramuscular stimulation (via dry needling).
Married for nearly 15 years, Sherk and his wife have two young sons. He is active with the U.S. Tennis Association league in Raleigh. In his spare time, he enjoys watching his sons’ soccer games.
