Biography
Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Ola-Kunle “Ola” Akintemi, MD, is a *hospitalist board certified in pediatrics. He provides direct patient care clinical supervision and teaching of medical students and residents at Women’s Hospital, Tim and Carolynn Rice Center for Child and Adolescent Health and The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Also, he is a clinical professor of pediatrics and an Academy of Educators senior fellow with University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s medical school.
His professional and academic interests include: hospital and acute care pediatrics; medical education; evidence-based medicine (EBM), clinical epidemiology and critical appraisal of medical literature; integration of (EBM) with medical decision-making; sickle cell disease; and diagnostic dilemma.
Dr. Akintemi’s hobbies include reading and listening to smooth jazz, spa and classical music. In addition, he enjoys taking long walks along the beach and spending time with his wife and son.
